This is a 3 unit course that will provide a general understanding of the historical development and impact of sports in American history from 1700 to the present. A survey of culture, race and gender as they relate to American sports will be discussed. Exploration of literature, journalism and film will be included.
- This course is designed to enable students to understand the relationship between specific aspects of sociology and sport. The class will examine social, political, and economic factors that directly and indirectly affect individual and team sport performance.
